"I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" is a post-apocalyptic science fiction short story by American writer Harlan Ellison. It was first published in the March 1967 issue of IF: Worlds of Science Fiction.

In this story, four men and one woman are the only survivors of a human race almost wiped out by artificial intelligence. Programmed to wage war on behalf of its creators, the AI has gone mad and turned against humanity. The survivors are captives, alive and subjected to brutal torture by a hostile and sadistic machine entity in an endless cycle of violence.
